Just Scan the DRIVER LICENSE or STATE IDENTIFICATION using the new PDF-417 “pebble code” scanner; the PDF-417 code is on the back of all state licenses and the pawn customers biographical information including name, address, date of birth, height, weight, eye color and more will automatically appear on the screen. This feature also helps to insure that the license presented to you is valid.
● The U. S. Treasury Department and the I. R. S. are now actively enforcing the provisions of a Presidential Executive Order directing all financial institutions (pawn shops are considered financial institutions within the scope of the order), to check EVERY pawn and purchase transaction customer against a list regularly updated by the Treasury. If the list is checked after the loan has been made, you are required to report the transaction and prevent redemption or sale of the items (blocking). If on the other hand you discover that the person attempting to make a loan or trying to sell you an item is on the list, you can turn down the transaction. THREE BALLS-Net will automatically check the list every time a pawn or purchase is attempted and will warn you of a ‘HIT’ if the name and/or ID submitted matches any person or alias named on the list. The Treasury list usually contains other information with the name (e.g. date of birth, country of origin and aliases) so as to enable you to make an informed decision as to the validity of the ‘HIT’. THREE BALL-Net will examine your records on request and give you a report so that you can fulfil a standing requirement to report all cash transactions over $10,000.00 during the course of a year with one customer. Willful non compliance carries potentially severe monetary penalties.
